In Memoriam of Dr. David E. Shapiro

We honor and remember the life and legacy of Dr. Shapiro, a devoted husband, father, friend, and extraordinary dental professional whose passion for his work and love for his family touched all who knew him.

Dr. Shapiro began his academic journey with a degree in Laboratory Psychology, specializing in Neuropsychopharmacology, from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. His dedication to learning and excellence led him to pursue his doctorate at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ. Rather than entering immediate practice, Dr. Shapiro chose to further refine his skills through a prestigious Post-Doctoral Education Program in Advanced General Dentistry at UMDNJ, where he earned an additional certification that marked the beginning of a truly remarkable career.

Throughout his life, Dr. Shapiro was committed to remaining at the forefront of dental innovation and care. He pursued advanced continuing education annually, studying under some of the most renowned dental practitioners in the world.

But for all his professional achievements, Dr. Shapiro’s greatest joy came from his family. He lived locally with his beloved wife, Cari, and their four children—Morgan, Mitchell, Matthew, and Michael. He cherished every moment spent with them and often shared how they were his true inspiration and life’s purpose.

His warmth, kindness, and integrity left a lasting impression on both his patients and peers. Dr. Shapiro’s legacy continues in every smile he helped create, in every life he touched with care and compassion.

Dr. Shapiro will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on through the work he loved and the people he loved even more.
